Answered from an approved fact

How it works

You decide what Lily knows, and she answers from that.

You

  1. 01

    Give her the facts.

Your hours, services, prices and policies. When we set Lily up, we draft them from your website and documents for you to check.

  2. 02

    You approve every one.

Lily won’t use a fact until you approve it. Change a fact and her answers change with it.

Lily

  1. 03

    She answers your website chat.

From your approved facts, in plain language. Phone answering is coming soon.

  2. 04

    Everything else comes to you.

When a question isn’t covered by a fact you’ve approved, she takes the person’s name, contact details and question, and emails you a summary.

ExampleThe example garage call (Garage tab above), waiting as an ordinary email the next morning. Phone answering is coming soon; chat handovers arrive the same way.

Why

Questions go unanswered when you’re busy or closed.

  • After hours. Evenings, weekends, public holidays.
  • Busy hours. When everyone’s hands are full.
  • Repeat questions. Opening times, prices you publish, where to park, what to bring.

What she answers

Everyday questions, answered from what you approved.

Under each answer is the approved fact it came from. What she can’t answer, she emails to the business. Website chat is available now; the calls show how phone answering will work when it’s ready.

You approve what she says

Lily only uses facts you’ve approved, and each fact shows where it came from.

When we set Lily up, we draft her facts from your website and documents and note where each came from. You approve each fact, edit it, or leave it waiting. When two sources disagree, we flag the clash, and Lily uses neither until you decide.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they start.

When can I start?

Now. Fill in the form and we’ll email you within two business days to set up a time. We set Lily up for your business by hand: your facts and policies, your website chat and your handover email. That usually takes about a week, and Lily starts answering once you’ve approved her facts.

Can Lily answer my phone?

Not yet. Phone answering is coming soon. Tick the phone answering box on the form and we’ll tell you when it launches.

Will people know they’re talking to an AI?

Yes. The chat window labels Lily as an AI assistant, and when phone answering launches, every call will open with Lily saying she is an AI assistant. We don’t think a customer should have to guess.

What do I need to give you?

Your website, if you have one, and the documents customers ask about, such as price lists, menus and policies. We turn them into facts for Lily, and you approve each one before she uses it.

Which countries and languages does Lily work in?

Website chat works for businesses in any country. Lily answers in English; other languages are planned, one at a time. Tell us your country on the form, and add your customers’ language in the note if it isn’t English.

Can Lily take bookings or payments?

No. Lily never takes payments or card details, and she doesn’t change or cancel bookings. Connections to booking and scheduling systems are next on our list. Until then, when someone wants to book, Lily takes their details and emails you so you can confirm.

What if she gets something wrong?

She can. Lily answers only from facts you’ve approved, and when she isn’t sure she says so and passes the question to you. She won’t promise refunds, discounts or appointments she can’t confirm. If an answer looks wrong, check the fact behind it: fix the fact once and her answers change with it. Tell us too, so we can look at what happened. Every conversation has a written transcript you can review for 30 days.

What happens to conversations? What about privacy?

Lily keeps a written transcript of each chat for 30 days so you can review it. When phone answering launches, calls will work the same way: a transcript, and no call audio kept. Benvena and Lily are made by Jola Pty Ltd in Australia; write to contact@jola.com.au with any privacy question.

What does it cost?

In US dollars, excluding tax: Chat is US$129 a month for 300 chats, with more by arrangement. Setup is US$490, charged when you sign up. Chat and phone will be US$259 a month for 300 call minutes and 500 chats, with extra call minutes at US$0.29 each, once phone answering is ready. Several locations are priced by quote.
